| This is the victory
pillar constructed by the Governor to mark the victory of the King
Marthanda Varma over the Dutch army of Colachel in 1741 where the
Dutch captain Eustachius Bendictus De Lannoy was taken prisoner. |

| Before the martyrdom, the servant of God knelt down here with his elbows on the rock and offered his final prayer to God accepting martyrdom. The marks seen on the rock are impresses made by his knees and elbows. |
His final prayer is written in Tamil, Malayalam and English. A small shrine has been erected over the place of his final prayer surrendering his soul to God. |

| This is the place where he was shot dead. A cross was planted on the spot. |
After the martyrdom his body was rolled down and this is the place where his body was lying. A wooden cross is seen there. |

| At the moment of
martyrdom most of the rocks were broken into pieces and one piece
that fell down rang like a church bell. Even now it sounds like a
bell when hit by a stone. |
